Firstly,I feel that I can not open this journal entry without saying WOW! 2020 is going to be one for the recordbooks. We had it ALL: Virus',murder hornets, lockdown, supply shortages, meat shortages,and...a deeper display of police brutality and systemic racism in our country. As a proud black woman,I am proud of the protestors of all colors that are going out and speaking up about the injustice going on here. I wish everyone out there, on U.S. soil and around the world,to be safe. Yesterday I was in a conversation and a friend asked about black on black crime and she wondered why people were upset when a white person kills a black person. Now some random guy who joined in on the conversation accused me on making the conversation racist, which wasn't the case. I won't go into the whole conversation, but to value buildings over life is dumb and uneducated. Now to answer the questionFirstly, all black people know that black on black crime exists. That is nothing new NOR is it relevent to what's going on now. The PROBLEM is that (these are fictitious senarios ok?) if Tyshawn kills Daiquan,Tyshawn is going to jail FOR LIFE. REGARDLESS OF THE REASON. Both will have thier names dragged through the mud and be made to look like the scum of the earth by various media and people who just watch t.v. and won't bother to check the facts. If BOB kills Tyshawn, Bob gets a slap on the wrist and made out to be a 'hero',PUT ON PAID ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE and Tyshawn gets dragged through the mud and THEN they try to justify the killing by digging up some shit that has nothing to do with the crime. That is the problem. THERE IS NO REASON FOR DEADLY FORCE WHEN YOUR LIFE IS NOT IN DANGER! This one of many issues plaguing the black community. If you want peace, TREAT EVERYONE EQUALLY. NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE! BLACK LIVES MATTER. PERIOD.

Yesterday,my acoustic guitar arrived! I am a beginner and I can not wait to apply what I know from piano to guitar. I also want to give a big shoutout and many thanks and blessings to those who gave me advice and congratulated me on my Facebook. Thank you everyone. She,my guitar, doesn't have a name yet,but I have decided to name her after a goddess of music and/or arts. I am so excited! Eventually I want to be able to compose for my guitar and get my music out there for the world to hear. One step closer to my Singer/Songwriter dreams! Yay!
