"No Salt,Please"
Jul. 15th, 2022 03:21 amPhysically, this has been the worst two days ever. I am thankful that I am on vacation, because work would've been unbearable otherwise. So on Wednesday night,I decided to eat ramen noodles for dinner, due to it being too late and I didn't want to heat up anything that would take a while in the microwave. I ate my usual, two packs with both packs of seasoning. At first, things were okay, then I noticed raised patches of skin,as rash on one of my breasts,it looked like a pattern of scale-ish bumps,square-roundish. They were itchy,so I put some peroxide on the bumps and they disappeared not long after. At first I thought it was a bug bite, but my hands started to swell,my feet had a swelling sensation ,like there were baseballs in the soles of my feet. Both my hands and feet began to itch...BADLY. I couldn't get it to stop. Another rash appeared on my outer thigh, small at first, but grew four times the size in a matter of hours. Since I had been in my room,I knew it couldn't have been a insect bite or plant related. So I thought of what I ate...RAMEN NOODLES. Mind you,the noodles itself weren't the issue as much as it was the seasoning packets. The whole pack is three hundred and Seventy calories, whereas the salt content for the whole pack is 1,300mg...and I ATE TWO PACKS...which means I consumed 2,600mg of salt, not including what I ate earlier in the day. The ramen put me at 114% my daily allowance. So I was closer to at least 125-150 my daily allowance. DANGEROUS is an understatement. My body was retaining water to balance out the high level of salt entering my body, thus the swelling and itching. Mind you, this didn't happen before and WILL NOT happen again. So I will just eat the brick and toss the packet. When the last are gone, then no more ramen. This was very scary and eye opening. One,how much water I have been drinking vs. how much I NEED to drink. So I downed a whole gallon of water and my body stopped swelling as much and slowly went back to normal. Thank the gods, because I did not want to end up in the hospital. Just another way my body is changing. Funny enough,I do recall, lessening the amount of salt I ate, mostly changing up the seasonings I use,a few years ago. I guess I just entered stage two. Ramen is the only thing that I eat that is really salty, which I confirmed by checking the labels on other food products that I have. So,even less salt is the game. I am well, bless the goddess.Noted and not taken for granted.
